USNATO Ambassador Julianne Smith discussed the essential role of NATO in a free, democratic and prosperous Europe, and the current security challenges posed by Russia's unprovoked war on Ukraine, at a virtual event hosted by the National University of Public Service's Institute for Strategic Defense Studies Monday. She responded to Hungarian and Romanian security policy analysts' questions about food security, the transformation of the European security architecture, countering Russian disinformation, and NATO unity as well.
